Developmental
Residency Pathways

Best Friend Prep offers a limited number of structured developmental placements for puppies during early formative stages of life: Foundational Residency and Developmental Residency.

Each pathway is centered around:

  • emotional regulation

  • environmental stability

  • confidence development

  • structured social pacing

  • relationship-based learning

  • individualized developmental guidance

Placement is determined through developmental fit, cohort compatibility, and admissions review.

Foundational Residency

Early Development & Environmental Stabilization

Designed for puppies in the earliest stages of development requiring calm structure, predictable routines, and guided environmental integration.

The Foundational Residency emphasizes:

  • emotional stability

  • confidence through repetition

  • guided exposure to novelty

  • cooperative developmental foundations

  • restorative daily rhythms

Puppies progress through carefully structured days within a low-volume residential environment designed to support thoughtful, adaptive development.

Investment

$2,400–$2,700 per week

Development Residency

Expanded Developmental Support & Adaptive Confidence Building

Designed for puppies requiring deeper developmental support, extended environmental integration, or more individualized pacing during sensitive developmental periods.

In addition to foundational residency support, this pathway may include:

  • expanded confidence-building work

  • advanced environmental integration

  • cooperative care and handling development

  • guided transition support

  • individualized developmental planning

The emphasis remains calm, structured, and developmentally paced rather than intensive or performance-driven.

Investment

$3,200–$4,000 per week

Residency Structure

All Residency pathways maintain:

  • limited cohort enrollment

  • highly controlled residential environments

  • individualized observation and reporting

Enrollment remains intentionally limited in order to preserve developmental quality and environmental consistency.
