Policies & Terms

Enrollment & Acceptance Policy

1

Enrollment in the Puppy Development Residency Program is by application and approval only.

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. We evaluate each puppy and household for developmental fit, capacity alignment, and program suitability.

We reserve the right to decline enrollment at our discretion if we determine the program is not the appropriate environment for the puppy’s needs or developmental stage.

Limited Capacity Policy

2

This is a low-volume, in-home developmental program.

We maintain intentionally limited concurrent enrollment to preserve:

• individualized attention

• consistent routine structure

• emotional stability of all puppies in residence

Availability is not guaranteed and may fluctuate based on current enrollments.

Age & Eligibility Policy

3

This program is designed for puppies approximately 8 weeks to 6 months of age, during critical early developmental stages.

Eligibility depends on:

• developmental readiness

• vaccination status appropriate for social exposure

• behavioral and environmental suitability for a home-based setting

Older puppies may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

How can I contact you?

4

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

Vaccination & Health Policy

5

For the safety of all puppies in residence:

• Puppies must be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations as recommended by a licensed veterinarian

• Proof of vaccination may be required prior to enrollment

• Puppies must be free from contagious illness, parasites, or conditions that could impact group health

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue care if health conditions present a risk to other puppies or the home environment.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

6

All puppies are picked up and returned through scheduled handoff appointments.

This includes:

• structured offsite pickup

• structured return-home transitions

Unscheduled arrivals or drive-ups are not permitted, as they disrupt the calm environmental conditions required for all resident puppies.

This policy ensures:

• emotional stability of all puppies in residence

• predictable environmental structure

• reduced overstimulation during transitions

• consistent developmental outcomes across clients

Controlled Environment & No-Visitation Policy

7

Payment & Reservation Policy

8

The Canine Development Residency operates within a structured, low-stimulation home environment designed to support emotional stability, routine consistency, and developmental learning.

To preserve the integrity of this environment:

• The Residency is not open to client visitation at any time

• The home environment remains private and is not accessible to the public

• Drop-in visits, scheduled tours, or informal visits are not permitted

• All transitions are conducted through structured pickup and return-home protocols only

All puppies are picked up and returned through scheduled handoff appointments.

Enrollment is confirmed only once:

• the application is approved

• the intake process is completed

• and payment terms are agreed upon

A non-refundable deposit may be required to reserve a placement.

Full payment or weekly payment structure must be completed prior to or at the start of the residency period unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

9

Health & Emergency Care Policy

10

In the event of illness or injury:

• We will contact the owner immediately

• We may seek veterinary care at the owner’s expense if urgent treatment is required

• All decisions will prioritize the puppy’s safety and wellbeing

Owners are responsible for any veterinary costs incurred during residency unless otherwise specified.

Behavioral Safety Policy

10

We reserve the right to adjust, pause, or discontinue participation if a puppy exhibits:

• behavior that presents safety risk to themselves or others

• extreme distress incompatible with a home-based developmental setting

• needs that exceed the scope of this program

In such cases, we will communicate promptly and discuss appropriate next steps.

Training Philosophy Policy

11

Because placements are limited and reserved in advance:

• Cancellations within a defined notice period (e.g., 7–14 days) may result in loss of deposit

• Short-notice cancellations may not be eligible for refund or rescheduling

• Rescheduling is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed

This policy ensures fairness and protects limited enrollment capacity.

Owner Communication Policy

12

We provide regular updates during residency, which may include:

• progress observations

• routine summaries

• behavioral notes

• photos or short video updates

Response times for messaging may vary based on active care periods. Communication is structured to maintain focus on the puppies in residence.

Liability & Responsibility Policy

13

Owners acknowledge that:

• puppies are in a developmental stage and may exhibit normal behaviors such as chewing, nipping, or accidents

• socialization and exposure are conducted in a controlled but real-world environment

• no behavioral outcome can be absolutely guaranteed

We provide structured developmental guidance but cannot guarantee specific behavioral results.

Program Scope Policy

Right to Refuse Service

While not a traditional training program, this developmental residency program uses a reward-based, emotionally attuned approach focused on:

• confidence building

• routine establishment

• structured exposure

• cooperative learning

We do not use:

• aversive training tools (shock, prong, or harsh corrective methods)

• fear-based or intimidation-based techniques

This is a developmental residency program, not:

• emergency behavioral intervention

• long-term boarding facility

• guaranteed obedience training program

The focus is early developmental foundation, not complete behavior resolution.

We reserve the right to:

• decline applications

• discontinue enrollment

• adjust participation conditions

at any time if it is in the best interest of:

• the puppy

• the household environment

• or the integrity of the program
