How Enrollment Works
The Residency is structured around early developmental windows rather than fixed program lengths. Puppies may enter the Residency between approximately 8 weeks and 6 months of age, and each placement is shaped by their developmental stage at the time of entry.
Because of this, enrollment is not designed as a uniform, start-to-finish program. Instead, each puppy’s experience is individually structured within the broader term system and cohort environment.
-
Entry Points
Puppies may enter the Residency at different stages of early development. The timing of entry naturally influences the structure, focus, and duration of their participation.
Some puppies enter at the beginning of a term and experience a longer developmental arc within the Residency. Others enter mid-term or later in the early developmental window and participate in a more focused, shorter placement centered on stabilization, environmental adaptability, and home transition readiness.
-
No Fixed Program Length
The Residency does not operate on a fixed-duration or “completion-based” model.
Instead, each placement is defined by:
the puppy’s developmental stage at entry
the structure of the current term
individualized pacing within the Residency environment
readiness for transition back into the home
Because of this, some puppies may participate across multiple terms, while others may experience a single term or a partial-term placement.
Each pathway is considered complete in itself.
-
Developmental Focus
Across all enrollment pathways, the Residency remains centered on:
emotional regulation
environmental adaptability
structured routine development
relationship-based learning
foundational readiness for continued learning in the home environment
The emphasis is not on duration, but on developmental alignment.
-
Transition Back Home
Each Residency placement concludes when the puppy demonstrates readiness for a stable transition back into their home environment. This timing is individualized and is not tied to a fixed calendar endpoint.
Families receive structured guidance to support continuity beyond the Residency period.
